Our Services
RecoverED, LLC welcomes patients of all genders, races, body shapes, and sizes. I use a collaborative, individualized approach to identify challenges, set goals, and support recovery from eating disorders or disordered eating. In-person appointments are available at our Woodstock office near Rt. 29 and Waverly Woods Village Center (Howard County), with virtual visits for residents of MD, DC, VA, PA, and OH.
Expert Evaluations
Comprehensive assessments aimed at developing an understanding of your struggles with food and eating.
They include a full mental health assessment, a review of available medical and mental health records and obtaining additional data to formulate the treatment plan, like collateral information from your team or support persons.
Initial visit is typically 120 min. In some cases, an additional brief wrap-up session will be scheduled.
Treatment recommendations may consist of regular follow-up appointments but may also include referrals to specialists more suited to your needs.
Individualized Treatment Sessions
Individualized follow-up visits with services tailored to your specific needs.
Available services include:
monitoring and managing medical complications of your disordered eating
nutritional education and counseling
psychiatric medication prescribing and management or deprescribing
Genesight testing if clinically appropriate
psychotherapy geared towards your unique struggles
Whether you’re interested in full compliment of services or you have an outpatient team and you’re looking for an expert eating disorder psychiatrist, I will work with you and your team to accomodate your needs.
Professional Consultations
Available to all mental health clinicians and medical professionals who are looking for expert guidance and support from an eating disorder specialist in the process of diagnosing and/or effectively managing patients under their care.
Teaching engagements and public speaking
Lectures, presentations, workshops, and teaching sessions on various eating disorder topics are available for healthcare professionals and lay audiences. These opportunities aim to enhance understanding and awareness of eating disorders.
Bariatric Mental Health Evaluations
Comprehensive evaluations for individuals who are currently in the process of pursuing bariatric surgery. They are focused on assessing individual’s understanding of the important life-long implications as well as readiness for the procedure. They aim to identify potential areas that may need to be addressed in order to maximize overall success of the intervention and support long-term health outcomes. Typically scheduled for 2.5 to 3 hours, these sessions involve thorough discussions and assessments. A comprehensive and detailed consultation letter will be prepared and sent to the bariatric team afterwards.
Education for caregivers
Caregivers often face emotional and logistical challenges when navigating the complexities of their loved one's eating disorder. These sessions are focused on providing focused education on the nature of eating disorders, red flags and symptoms, available resources, effective treatment options to help empower caregivers and enhance their ability to support their loved ones. More specific and personalized sessions like e.g meal support education or navigating eating out can also be offered to name a few. They are scheduled in 60 min time increments and are for caregivers of patients who are currently in treatment with RecoverED.
